Bee Venom Therapy
What is Bee Venom Therapy?
Bee Venom Therapy uses bee venom to treat health conditions.
It has been use since the ancient times to treat a variety of conditions.
How does Bee Venom Therapy work?
Bee venom is a rich source of peptides, enzymes and biogenic amines. There are at least 18 active components in the venom, some of these have pharmaceutical properties. The actual mechanism of the venom is not entirely understood yet. Scientists believe the venom can modify the way the immune system functions in the body.
Bee venom is collected using a machine which causes the bees to sting the collecting point. The bees are not killed during this process. After the bees have been released, the venom is scraped off the collection point and then used to prepare the venom for therapy. The venom used in the therapy is homeopathic bee venom, which means it is diluted down to infintessimal amounts.
What does Bee Venom Therapy treatment involve?
After taking medical details, before therapy can begin, the therapist will determine whether the client is allergic to bee venom by administering a small amount of the venom intradermally. If no allergic reaction occurs, therapy can begin.
Therapy consists of administering one or two bee stings or injections every other day, three times a week, gradually increasing the injections or the frequency, depending on the client's situation.
