The original form of meditation was taught by the Buddha 2,500 years ago. Many different forms of meditation have evolved from this.

It is the art of stilling the mind. It is a remarkably straightforward technique which can be fitted into a daily routine.

What are the benefits of Meditation

The benefits of meditation are many and various. It is an excellent way to relax, which aids healing on various levels in our bodies.

Health benefits include a reduction in the occurance of negative emotional states, such as anxiety, stress, anger and depression. It lowers blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attack and strokes, it increases concentration and energy levels.

It increases the sense of happiness within us, promoting a healthy mindset and assists the comtemplation of the mysteries of life.

How Meditation works

The way is works is by using a particular type of brain waves to achieve a meditative state. Brain activity is divided into five wavebands. During meditation we connect with our Alpha waves, which are the ones that are dominant during relaxation and creative processes. By connecting with these waves we help our mind, body and spirit achieve a state of stillness and balance with promotes the holistic healing process.
