What is Feldenkrais Method
Named after its originator, Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984), an engineer and physicist as well as a Judo teacher, the Feldenkrais Method is a way of method focusing and learning movement, which leads to enhanced functioning plus improved movement.
How does Feldenkrais Method work?
In Awareness Through Movement classes to learn the Feldenkrais Method, people practise precise structured movement explorations that involve moving, thinking, sensing and imagining.
Each lesson consists of comfortable, easy movements that gradually evolve into movements of greater range and complexity.
Awareness Through Movement lessons attempt to make the client aware of habitual neuromuscular patterns and rigidities and to expand options for choosing new ways of moving while increasing sensitivity and improving efficiency.
What does Feldenkrais Method treatment involve?
Attending classes to learn the method. The number of classes depends on the individual.
