What is the Bowen Technique
A massage technique involving specific, precise moves, developed by Tom Bowen, an Australian, in the 1950s.
How does Bowen Technique work?
By enabling the body to reset and heal itself, which promotes pain relief and the recovery of energy.
What does Bowen Technique treatment involve?
After a discussion about the treatment needed, the therapist will use thumb and forefinger to carry out a specific series of gentle, rolling-type moves. The treatment will involve different moves, combined with a break of a few minutes between the change of technique, to allow the body to adjust and help promote efficient healing. The treatment is gentle and relaxing. Usually, two to four appointments are needed, at weekly intervals. Treatment times are usually about 20 to 30 minutes.
What can Bowen Technique help?
Back and neck pain, respiratory conditions, lymphatic drainage, fibromyalgea, frozen shoulder, headaches, sports injuries, chronic fatique, high blood pressure and stress.
