What is Biodynamic psychotherapy
Developed by a Norwegian physiotherapist and psychgologist, Gerda Boyesen (1922-2005). It is a massage therapy based on an in-depth awareness of the body as an embodiment of a psychological and energetic process.
How does Biodynamic psychotherapy work?
In a healthy person the peristalsis (digestive process of the gut) is able to digest food, but it also has the function of regulating stress. In an unhealthy person, some of the muscles of the gut may not be working efficiently. By using specific massage techniques (including some Swedish massage), the gut is activated which helps to digest and eliminate the by-products of stress from our bodies.
What does Biodynamic psychotherapy treatment involve?
A discussion with the therapist followed by massage or manipulation on either a treatment table or vegetotherapy couch (lower and wider than a normal couch). A follow up appointment is booked.
What can Biodynamic psychotherapy help?
Stress, psychosomatic symptoms, breathing problems, promote healthy muscle tone, aids digestion and detoxification.
